Roofing Services for Cypress Park Estates Homeowners
We offer a full range of residential roofing services for homes in Cypress Park Estates and across West Vancouver. Every project is handled by our own experienced crew — no subcontracting.
Roof Replacement
When a roof has reached the end of its service life, we manage the full replacement — tear-off, deck inspection, underlayment, new roofing system, and final walkthrough. We’ll help you choose the right material for your home’s architecture, elevation, and long-term goals.
Roof Repair
Storm damage, failed flashing, moss-compromised shingles, or a slow leak that’s getting worse — our repair team responds quickly and fixes the problem correctly the first time. We also offer 24/7 emergency roof repair for active leaks.
Metal roofing is an ideal choice for Cypress Park Estates properties. Our proprietary EcoLock standing seam panel system is fabricated on-site using our own machinery. We offer concealed fastener single and double lock standing seam in 1″ and 1.5″ rib heights and 12″–20″ panel widths — built for longevity in mountain-side conditions. Non-prorated lifetime warranty included.
We install Malarkey and CertainTeed asphalt shingles — two of the most trusted names in residential roofing. Options include Vista, Legacy, Windsor, Landmark, Landmark Pro, and Presidential, with algae-resistant technology suited for Vancouver’s damp climate.
Cedar roofing remains popular among Cypress Park Estates homeowners who want a natural, premium aesthetic that complements the mountain environment. We install cedar shakes and shingles and offer EnviroShake composite as a low-maintenance alternative that mirrors the look of aged cedar with a 50-year warranty.
Modern and West Coast-style homes often incorporate flat or low-slope sections. We install TPO, torch-on (SBS modified bitumen), peel-and-stick, and EPDM flat roofing systems — waterproof, UV-resistant, and designed for Vancouver’s high-rainfall environment.
Proper drainage is critical at higher elevations where rainfall is heavier and debris from surrounding forest accumulates quickly. We install seamless and internal gutter systems built to handle the volume and keep water moving away from your foundation.
Solar Panel Installation
BC government rebates of up to $10,000 are currently available for residential solar installations. Eco Exteriors integrates solar into both new and existing roofing systems, with the roofing expertise to ensure the installation is waterproof and structurally sound.
Skylights
We install Columbia skylights in conjunction with roofing projects, ensuring watertight flashing details and proper integration with the surrounding roofing system.
Roofing Challenges in Cypress Park Estates
Cypress Park Estates sits above the 200-metre mark on the lower slopes of Cypress Mountain — an environment that creates specific and ongoing roofing demands that don’t apply to lower-elevation West Vancouver neighbourhoods.
Heavy Rainfall and Moisture
The Cypress Park Estates area receives significantly more annual precipitation than sea-level communities in West Vancouver. That moisture penetrates any weakness in a roofing system — failed flashing, compromised underlayment, deteriorating shingles — and causes rot, mould, and structural damage quickly. High-performance waterproofing and properly installed roof drainage are not optional here.
Snow and Winter Exposure
Unlike most of West Vancouver, Cypress Park Estates receives meaningful snowfall most winters. Snow loading places additional weight on roofing systems and, when followed by rain or freeze-thaw cycles, creates serious risk of ice dam formation and membrane stress. We select and install materials rated for the conditions your home actually experiences.
Moss Growth and Organic Debris
The dense evergreen forest surrounding Cypress Park Estates means constant needle and leaf fall, year-round shade on large portions of most roofs, and persistent moisture at the surface. This is exactly the combination that moss and algae need to establish quickly. Left untreated, moss lifts shingles, traps moisture, and accelerates deterioration dramatically. We recommend algae-resistant materials and zinc ridge strips as part of any roofing installation in this area.
Wind Exposure at Higher Elevations
Properties on the upper streets of Cypress Park Estates are exposed to stronger wind events than those closer to the highway. Wind uplift is a real concern for roofing systems with exposed fasteners or improperly installed edge details. Our metal and asphalt systems are installed with wind resistance in mind — proper fastener patterns, sealed edges, and adequate overhang at eaves.
Built for Cypress Park Estates Homes
The homes in Cypress Park Estates are not standard residential builds. They require a roofing contractor who understands the architectural demands and has the technical experience to execute at a high level.
Luxury Residences
Cypress Park Estates is defined by large, architect-designed custom homes where roofing is a visible and significant design element. We work with premium materials — standing seam metal, composite slate, luxury asphalt, and cedar — that meet the visual and performance standards these properties require.
Custom-Built Homes
Custom homes often feature complex roof geometry — multiple ridges, valleys, dormers, and dramatic pitches. Our crew has the experience and equipment to handle complex installations correctly, with proper flashing, ventilation, and waterproofing at every intersection.
Steep-Slope Properties
Many Cypress Park Estates homes are built into the slope of the mountain, which means steep roof pitches are common. Steep-slope roofing requires specialized safety equipment, different material handling, and precise installation technique. We’re fully equipped and WorkSafeBC registered.
Mountain-Side Estates
At elevation and in forested terrain, roofing systems work harder and wear faster. We recommend longer-lasting materials for Cypress Park Estates properties — metal roofing with a lifetime warranty, or composite systems like EnviroShake that offer 50 years of performance without the organic maintenance demands of cedar.
Why Homeowners Choose Eco Exteriors Roofing and Solar
Eco Exteriors has built its reputation on consistent workmanship, honest communication, and standing behind our installations. Here’s what sets us apart.
Experienced Roofing Professionals
Our founder Douglas Jackson has been roofing on the North Shore for over 18 years. We are certified by CertainTeed (ShingleMaster), Malarkey (Certified Pro Contractor), and EnviroShake — certifications that require demonstrated installation quality and ongoing education. We're also a Member of the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business and the BC Sustainable Energy Association.
Premium Roofing Materials
We install Malarkey and CertainTeed shingles, our own EcoLock metal panel system, EnviroShake and EnviroSlate composite, Columbia skylights, and TPO/EPDM/torch-on flat roofing membranes. Every material we use is selected for long-term performance in the Pacific Northwest climate.
Transparent Communication
We provide written estimates with clear, itemized pricing — no hidden fees, no surprises after the job is done. We'll explain your options in plain language, tell you what we'd do on our own home, and keep you informed throughout the project.
Workmanship You Can Trust
Our installations are backed by our workmanship warranty alongside manufacturer warranties of up to 50 years prorated. We're Google Guaranteed, rated 9.9/10 on HomeStars, and accredited with a BBB A+ rating. We do our own inspections — and so do our manufacturers, randomly, on roofs we install.
Our Roofing Process
Every project at Eco Exteriors follows the same straightforward process, designed to protect your home and keep you informed from start to finish.
Roof Inspection
We start with a thorough inspection of your existing roof — shingles, flashing, underlayment, ridge venting, gutters, and decking. We'll identify what's failing, what's at risk, and what's still in good condition. No upselling. No manufactured urgency.
Recommendations and Planning
Based on the inspection, we'll provide a written estimate covering materials, scope, timeline, and pricing. If there are multiple material options that make sense for your home, we'll walk you through them — including lifespan, cost, maintenance expectations, and warranty coverage.
Installation or Repair
Our crew handles the full scope — tear-off, deck repairs if needed, underlayment, roofing system installation, flashing, and ventilation. We keep the site clean throughout and take precautions to protect your landscaping and exterior finishes.
Final Walkthrough
Before we close out any project, we do a final walkthrough with the homeowner — walking the exterior, checking drainage, confirming the installation is complete and clean. We answer any questions and document the warranty details for your records.
Local Experience in Cypress Park Estates
We’ve worked extensively throughout West Vancouver — from Ambleside and Dundarave at sea level to the British Properties, Glenmore, Caulfeild, and the upper Cypress Park Estates corridor.
High-Elevation Roofing Systems
At the elevations common in Cypress Park Estates, roofing systems need to manage greater temperature swings, more aggressive moisture cycles, and heavier debris loads. We specify materials and installation methods that account for these conditions, not just the standard West Vancouver climate assumptions.
Weather-Resistant Roofing Solutions
From our EcoLock standing seam metal to CertainTeed’s Presidential luxury shingles and EnviroSlate composite, every system we install in Cypress Park Estates is selected for weather resistance first. These aren’t entry-level products. They’re materials built to perform for decades in the conditions your home actually faces.
Long-Term Roof Maintenance
We offer roof maintenance services including biannual inspections, moss treatment, gutter cleaning coordination, and flashing assessments. For Cypress Park Estates homeowners, we recommend spring and fall inspections to catch any damage from winter snow loading or summer UV exposure before it becomes a larger issue.
Premium Roofing Upgrades
If you’re considering a roofing upgrade — moving from asphalt to metal, adding solar, or upgrading to a composite shake system — we can assess your existing structure and provide a clear picture of what’s involved and what you’ll gain. We also offer 10% off all roof accessories when a new roof is purchased, subject to applicable conditions.
What Our Customers Say About Us
We've completed roofing projects across Cypress Park Estates. Here's what our customers say.
We chose to go with a metal roof, and I couldn’t be happier with the quality of work and the final results. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and it truly enhances the look of our home. Thank you, thank you!
Fast, responsive and very helpful.
James
Wholeheartedly recommend working with them if you need roofing work.
1. If I was told this, I would have looked at the weather before making the appointment. 2. I called two other roofing companies and both showed up had no problem going on the roof in the rain.
He gets two stars because he actually called to cancel. (The bar is set low with trades these days.)
The affect a new roof has on the curb appeal of your house is enormous, not to mention the comfort you gain knowing that everything is watertight for the oncoming winter - you need the installation done right. Doug, Rada and team were awesome from beginning to end - from clear details of what was being installed in the quote to how they protected the rest of the house and deck during demolition and installation - they went the extra mile.
They easily dealt with some curveballs we threw to them too. They removed our leaky (and now unused) chimneys above the roofline, giving the home a much cleaner look and installed snow guards.
Doug took time to work through a water egress issue that was not related to the roof installation - including helping me cut drywall open! - determined to find a solution the issue. Which we did.
We also required some more specialized carpentry work. Doug leveraged his own network to get us somebody to complete it.
It's not easy to find a company that that you can trust with such competitive pricing and such high quality craftsmanship on such a project. I feel fortunate to have worked with Doug, Rada and the team at Eco Exteriors.
The metal roof has really given the home a transformative look. And the new gutters were really the cherry on top. My photographs attached don't truly show how transformative it is.
A great team and great company!

Roofing Questions — Answered Honestly
The cost of a new roof in Cypress Park Estates depends on the size of the home, roof complexity, and material selected. Asphalt shingle replacements typically range from $12,000 to $25,000 for larger homes. Metal roofing (standing seam) generally runs $22,000 to $50,000 or more. Steep slopes, multiple valleys, and dormers — common in this neighbourhood — increase labour requirements and overall cost. We provide written estimates with transparent, itemized pricing.
Metal roofing — particularly standing seam — is the top choice for high-elevation homes like those in Cypress Park Estates. It handles snow loading, sheds water rapidly, resists moss, and carries a lifetime non-prorated warranty. EnviroShake composite is another strong option, offering the look of cedar with a 50-year warranty and none of the organic maintenance. Both outperform asphalt at higher elevations where conditions are more demanding.
Snow adds significant weight to a roofing system and, when it melts and refreezes, creates ice dams that can force water under shingles and into the structure. In Cypress Park Estates, where winter snowfall is a regular occurrence, this is a real risk. Proper attic ventilation, high-quality underlayment, and ice-and-water shield at the eaves are critical defences. Metal roofing naturally sheds snow, reducing loading concerns.
We recommend biannual inspections — spring and fall — for homes in Cypress Park Estates. The spring inspection should assess any damage from winter snow loading, wind events, or freeze-thaw cycles. The fall inspection prepares the roof for the heavy rainfall season. Annual gutter cleaning and moss treatment are also advisable given the forested environment.
Yes — metal roofing is one of the best long-term investments for mountain-side properties in West Vancouver. It handles snow loading, sheds water quickly, requires minimal maintenance, resists moss without treatment, and comes with a lifetime warranty from Eco Exteriors. While upfront costs are higher than asphalt, the 60- to 100-year lifespan makes it significantly more cost-effective over time. It also adds resale value and curb appeal.
Moss growth in Cypress Park Estates is driven by shade, moisture, and organic debris — conditions that are constant given the surrounding forest. The most effective approaches are: trimming overhanging branches to increase sunlight and airflow, installing zinc or copper ridge strips that release moss-inhibiting ions with each rainfall, choosing algae-resistant shingles (like Malarkey Legacy), and scheduling annual cleaning. Metal and composite roofing systems naturally resist moss.
Key signs your Cypress Park Estates roof needs replacement include: shingles that are curling, cracking, or losing granules; moss or algae growth that keeps returning despite treatment; interior water stains or attic moisture; a sagging roofline; or a roof older than 20 years (asphalt) or 25 years (cedar). If repair costs are approaching 30% of replacement cost, full replacement is usually the better investment.
Lifespan depends on material and maintenance. Asphalt shingles typically last 18–25 years in the North Shore’s damp climate — shorter than the rated lifespan due to moisture and moss. Metal roofing lasts 50 to 100+ years with minimal maintenance. EnviroShake composite carries a 50-year warranty. Cedar typically lasts 20–30 years with regular treatment. At higher elevations with heavier exposure, proactive maintenance is essential to reaching the upper end of any material’s service life.
Cypress Park Estates homes often feature steep pitches, multiple roof planes, dormers, and skylights — details that significantly increase labour time and material waste. A straightforward gable roof might take two to three days; a complex multi-valley custom home can take twice as long. As a general rule, the more intersections a roof has, the higher the cost per square foot. We account for complexity upfront in every written estimate so there are no surprises.
Yes. Eco Exteriors offers financing for qualifying roofing projects, making it easier to move forward with a full replacement or major repair without paying the full cost upfront. For homeowners considering solar alongside their roofing project, BC government rebates of up to $10,000 are currently available — which can meaningfully offset the combined project cost. Ask us about financing options when you request your estimate.
