Roofing Services for Altamont Homeowners
We offer a full range of residential roofing services tailored for the property types and climate conditions found in Altamont. Every service is backed by our workmanship warranty and the manufacturer certifications that set us apart on the North Shore.
Roof Replacement
When your roof has reached the end of its service life, a full replacement protects your investment and restores your home’s performance. We handle complete tear-off, deck inspection, and installation of your chosen roofing system — with minimal disruption and a thorough final walkthrough.
Roof Repair
Not every roofing issue requires a full replacement. From flashing failures and storm damage to isolated shingle or membrane repairs, we identify the source of the problem and fix it properly the first time.
Standing seam metal roofing is an ideal choice for Altamont’s waterfront estates and high-value properties. Our EcoLock concealed fastener system is fabricated on-site using our own machinery, offering panels in 1″ and 1.5″ rib heights and 12″–20″ widths. Metal roofs last 40–70 years and carry a non-prorated lifetime warranty.
For homeowners seeking a high-quality, cost-effective roofing system, we install architectural asphalt shingles from Malarkey and CertainTeed — including the Vista, Legacy, Windsor, Landmark, and Landmark Pro lines. Designed for West Vancouver’s wet climate with algae-resistant granules and strong wind ratings.
Cedar remains a premium choice for West Vancouver’s heritage and custom-built properties. We install and repair Western Red Cedar shakes and shingles, using stainless steel fasteners and quality underlayment to maximize lifespan in Altamont’s damp coastal environment.
Modern Altamont homes with flat or low-slope roofs require waterproof membrane systems designed for heavy rainfall and drainage performance. We install TPO, torch-on (SBS modified bitumen), EPDM, and peel-and-stick systems appropriate for the specific slope and load requirements of each property.
With the volume of rainfall Altamont receives throughout the year, effective gutter and drainage systems are critical to protecting rooflines, siding, and foundations. We install seamless aluminum gutter systems and internal gutter solutions designed for the flow demands of larger estate properties.
Solar Panel Installation
Eco Exteriors integrates solar panel systems with new and existing roofing projects across West Vancouver. BC government rebates of up to $10,000 are currently available on residential solar installations. Our roofing expertise ensures proper waterproofing and integration from the start.
Skylights
Skylights bring natural light into Altamont’s ocean-view and tree-surrounded homes without compromising weatherproofing. We supply and install Columbia skylights with precision flashing and waterproofing appropriate for West Vancouver’s rainfall levels.
Roofing Challenges in Altamont
Altamont’s location — perched above the waterfront in West Vancouver — creates specific roofing challenges that require more than standard solutions. Understanding these conditions is central to how we design and install every project in this neighborhood.
Salt-Air Exposure
Properties in and around Altamont face consistent exposure to salt-laden air from Howe Sound and the Pacific. Salt accelerates corrosion on metal flashings, fasteners, and coatings, reducing the lifespan of standard roofing materials. We specify marine-grade products — including aluminum standing seam panels and stainless steel fasteners — wherever coastal exposure is a factor.
Heavy Rainfall and Moisture
West Vancouver receives significant annual rainfall, and Altamont's elevation and tree coverage can concentrate runoff in predictable patterns on larger roofs. Proper drainage design, quality underlayment, and watertight flashing installations are non-negotiable on every project we complete here.
Mature Tree Coverage
Altamont's large lots are surrounded by mature Douglas fir, cedar, and maple trees. While beautiful, they deposit debris year-round, hold moisture against roofing surfaces, and create conditions favorable to moss and algae growth. We account for this in our material selections and recommend appropriate maintenance schedules for each property.
Aging Premium Roofing Systems
Many Altamont homes were built with premium cedar or early architectural asphalt systems that are now approaching or past their service life. These properties require a contractor who can assess the condition of the deck, flashing, and drainage systems accurately — and recommend the most appropriate upgrade path for the value of the home.
Built for Altamont Homes
The homes in Altamont range from heritage estate properties to contemporary custom builds — each with distinct roofing requirements. Our experience across all major residential property types on the North Shore means we bring the right knowledge to every project.
Waterfront Estates
Ocean-facing properties in Altamont require roofing systems engineered for wind-driven rain, salt-air exposure, and demanding drainage loads. We select materials and installation methods specifically suited to these conditions, including corrosion-resistant standing seam metal and premium membrane underlayment.
Luxury Residences
High-value Altamont homes require a roofing contractor who treats the project with the same level of care as the rest of the property. From material selection through to final cleanup, we work cleanly, communicate clearly, and deliver results consistent with the standard of the home.
Custom-Built Homes
Custom architecture often includes complex roof geometries — steep pitches, multiple valleys, large overhangs, or integrated skylights. Our team has the experience to handle these projects accurately, ensuring every penetration, transition, and flashing detail is watertight and long-lasting.
Large Residential Properties
Larger rooflines mean more surface area, longer drainage runs, and more material moving through the system. We plan logistics carefully for Altamont’s estate-scale projects, coordinating material delivery, crew sizing, and timeline to complete the work efficiently without cutting corners.
Why Homeowners Choose Eco Exteriors Roofing and Solar
Altamont homeowners choose Eco Exteriors because we combine deep local experience with the certifications, materials, and communication standards that premium properties require. We earn trust project by project.
Experienced Roofing Professionals
Our crews are licensed, trained, and WorkSafeBC registered. We hold certifications from CertainTeed, Malarkey, and EnviroShake — meaning independent inspections verify our installation quality, not just our word. We are proud members of the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and the BC Sustainable Energy Association.
Premium Roofing Materials
We work exclusively with proven, high-performance products. Malarkey and CertainTeed asphalt shingles, our own EcoLock metal panel system, EnviroShake composite, and top-tier TPO and torch-on membrane systems give homeowners access to materials that perform in West Vancouver's specific climate conditions.
Transparent Communication
We provide clear, detailed estimates with no hidden fees. Before any work begins, you know exactly what materials are being used, what the project involves, and what to expect during installation. Our team is accessible throughout the project and available 24/7 for emergency roofing situations.
Workmanship You Can Trust
Our workmanship warranty, combined with manufacturer warranties of up to 50 years from CertainTeed and Malarkey, gives Altamont homeowners the protection their investment deserves. Our Google Guarantee and 9.9/10 HomeStars rating reflect a consistent record of delivering on our commitments.
Our Roofing Process
We follow a structured process on every project to ensure accurate assessment, clear expectations, and quality results. Altamont homeowners can expect the same level of professionalism from the first call to the final walkthrough.
Roof Inspection
Every project begins with a thorough on-site inspection of the existing roofing system, deck condition, drainage, ventilation, and flashings. We identify the full scope of what needs to be addressed — not just the visible symptoms. For Altamont's larger properties, this step is especially important given the scale and complexity of many rooflines.
Recommendations and Planning
Following the inspection, we provide a detailed written estimate with material options, timelines, and pricing. We explain the trade-offs between different systems honestly, so you can make a confident decision. No pressure, no upselling — just clear professional guidance.
Installation or Repair
Our installation teams work to a high standard of workmanship, following manufacturer specifications to ensure warranty eligibility. We minimize disruption to your property and clean up thoroughly at the end of each work day. Complex projects in Altamont typically take 3–7 business days depending on scope and weather.
Final Walkthrough
Before we consider a project complete, we conduct a final inspection with the homeowner present. We review the work, confirm everything meets our standards and yours, and provide documentation for your warranty records. We are available after the project for any follow-up questions.
Local Experience in Altamont
Altamont is a neighborhood we know well — not just from research, but from working on its homes. Our North Shore roots and years of project experience on this stretch of West Vancouver inform everything we do.
Waterfront Roofing Projects
We have completed roofing projects on properties with direct ocean exposure throughout Altamont and the surrounding West Vancouver waterfront. Our material selections account for the accelerated wear patterns driven by salt-air, wind-driven rain, and the persistent moisture characteristic of this part of the North Shore.
Luxury Estate Roofing Solutions
From full standing seam metal installations on large estate properties to cedar-to-composite conversions for homeowners seeking lower-maintenance alternatives, we have handled the spectrum of premium roofing work that Altamont demands. Every project is treated with the level of care the property requires.
Long-Term Weather Protection
Our focus is always on long-term performance, not just getting the job done. In Altamont’s coastal climate, that means choosing the right underlayment, specifying appropriate flashing details, and designing drainage solutions that handle peak rainfall loads without backing up or ponding.
Premium Roofing Upgrades
Many homeowners in Altamont are making the transition from aging cedar or standard asphalt to modern metal or composite systems that reduce lifetime maintenance and extend performance. We guide homeowners through this process — from material selection through installation — with honesty and expertise.
What Our Customers Say About Us
We've completed roofing projects across Altamont. Here's what our customers say.
We chose to go with a metal roof, and I couldn’t be happier with the quality of work and the final results. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and it truly enhances the look of our home. Thank you, thank you!
Fast, responsive and very helpful.
James
Wholeheartedly recommend working with them if you need roofing work.
1. If I was told this, I would have looked at the weather before making the appointment. 2. I called two other roofing companies and both showed up had no problem going on the roof in the rain.
He gets two stars because he actually called to cancel. (The bar is set low with trades these days.)
The affect a new roof has on the curb appeal of your house is enormous, not to mention the comfort you gain knowing that everything is watertight for the oncoming winter - you need the installation done right. Doug, Rada and team were awesome from beginning to end - from clear details of what was being installed in the quote to how they protected the rest of the house and deck during demolition and installation - they went the extra mile.
They easily dealt with some curveballs we threw to them too. They removed our leaky (and now unused) chimneys above the roofline, giving the home a much cleaner look and installed snow guards.
Doug took time to work through a water egress issue that was not related to the roof installation - including helping me cut drywall open! - determined to find a solution the issue. Which we did.
We also required some more specialized carpentry work. Doug leveraged his own network to get us somebody to complete it.
It's not easy to find a company that that you can trust with such competitive pricing and such high quality craftsmanship on such a project. I feel fortunate to have worked with Doug, Rada and the team at Eco Exteriors.
The metal roof has really given the home a transformative look. And the new gutters were really the cherry on top. My photographs attached don't truly show how transformative it is.
A great team and great company!

Roofing Questions — Answered Honestly
Roof replacement costs in Altamont vary based on property size, roof complexity, and material choice. Architectural asphalt shingles typically range from $9,000–$20,000 for a standard residential property, while standing seam metal roofing on a larger estate can range from $30,000–$60,000 or more. Altamont’s larger lots and architecturally complex rooflines often place projects toward the higher end of these ranges. We provide detailed written estimates at no obligation.
For waterfront properties in Altamont, aluminum standing seam metal roofing offers the best combination of salt-air resistance, longevity, and low maintenance. Aluminum does not corrode in coastal conditions the way steel can, and quality metal systems carry non-prorated lifetime warranties. Premium composite options like EnviroShake also perform well for homeowners who prefer the aesthetics of cedar without the ongoing maintenance requirements.
Roofs in coastal Altamont should be professionally inspected at least twice per year — in spring to assess winter storm damage, and in fall before the heavy rain season begins. Properties with direct ocean exposure or significant tree coverage may benefit from more frequent inspections. Early detection of flashing failures or moss growth prevents minor issues from becoming major structural problems.
Yes. Standing seam metal roofing is one of the most cost-effective long-term investments for Altamont’s high-value properties. With a lifespan of 40–70+ years, minimal maintenance requirements, and a non-prorated lifetime warranty, metal roofing eliminates multiple replacement cycles over the ownership period of a home. It also adds measurable curb appeal and home value relative to standard asphalt systems.
Yes, significantly. Salt air accelerates the corrosion of standard galvanized steel flashings and fasteners, degrades protective coatings on metal panels, and can break down the granules on asphalt shingles over time. For Altamont properties, we specify marine-grade materials — including aluminum panels, stainless steel fasteners, and corrosion-resistant flashings — to extend roof lifespan in coastal exposure conditions.
The most effective ways to extend your roof’s lifespan in Altamont are biannual professional inspections, prompt repair of any flashing or membrane issues, regular gutter cleaning (at minimum twice yearly), moss and debris removal, and trimming overhanging branches to improve airflow and reduce organic buildup. A roof in good condition with consistent maintenance routinely outlasts one that is neglected, regardless of material.
Key signs that a roof replacement is needed include widespread shingle curling or granule loss, multiple active leaks in different locations, visible sagging or soft spots on the deck, moss penetrating under shingle edges across more than 30% of the surface, or a roof age exceeding 20–25 years for asphalt systems. A professional inspection will confirm whether repair or full replacement is the appropriate path.
In Altamont’s coastal climate, quality asphalt architectural shingles typically last 20–25 years with regular maintenance. Cedar roofing lasts 25–35 years depending on care and grade. Standing seam metal roofing routinely lasts 40–70 years or more, making it the longest-performing option for properties in this neighborhood. Consistent maintenance extends the lifespan of any system regardless of material.
Look for a contractor with verifiable certifications, a local track record, and transparent pricing. In Altamont, where property values are high and roofing conditions are demanding, credentials matter — ask for proof of WorkSafeBC registration, manufacturer certifications like CertainTeed ShingleMaster or Malarkey Certified Pro, and references from comparable West Vancouver properties. A contractor who offers a detailed written estimate, explains material trade-offs clearly, and backs their work with a workmanship warranty is a reliable choice.
In most cases, yes — provided the existing roof structure is in good condition and has sufficient useful life remaining. Eco Exteriors integrates solar panel systems with both new roof installations and existing roofs, and will assess the current roofing system before any solar work begins. If the roof needs replacement first, combining both projects saves on labor and ensures the waterproofing beneath the panels is done correctly from the start. BC government rebates of up to $10,000 are currently available on qualifying residential solar installations.
